Weekend Memories

I haven't done one of these in a while so I figured I'd recap how we rang in 2012. On Friday the hunk and I visited Wet Willies, a frozen daiquiri bar/restaurant chain that recently opened up here in Fayetteville.

We wanted to try something new before the hunk left for 62 days of food deprivation. And I'm so glad we decided on Wet Willies, this place rocked!

They had tons of fun daiquiri flavors like Shock Treatment, Ninja Turtle, Easter Egg, Dreamsicle, and dun, dun, dun....the killer Call-A-Cab daiquiri.

If you're looking for a cheap way to lose your inhibitions for the night, this is the drink to order. Not that I condone any of that ;)

The drink is 190* of pure grain alcohol and rum. In total it's made of about 80% alcohol. Basically, it's a terrible, no good, very bad drink for you.

Of course this meant my husband had to try it. Fortunately, he survived.

Anyway, I'm not here to go on and on about an alcoholic drink. I also want to note how I was impressed by the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant, it's definitely a fun place to visit. I'm pretty sure we'll have a few fun baby-less nights here when my super hunk returns.

Another thing I loved about this place? The military related art they had all over the restaurant. I'm such a sucker for anything military themed.

I'm also a sucker for good food and the occasional greasy meal.

To start, we had the homemade chips with blue cheese, bacon, scallions and buffalo sauce. One of my favorite combinations out there, minus the chips. To be honest, I've never been a big fan of chips, blegh.

I went back and forth between the veggie wrap and chicken avocado sandwich and ended up ordering the latter. I should have gone with the veggie wrap though, while the sandwich was good, it was too greasy for me.

After Wet Willies, we decided to walk off our dinner by exploring downtown. But we didn't stay out too long because the next morning we had to wake up early. Unfortunately, it was time to say another goodbye to the hunk.

And this time we had a baby for him to say bye to.

After the hunk left,  I spent my New Years eve with just the little guy. To ring in the New Year I kissed him on his belly and he immediately started crying, haha.

Such is the life.

I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning, and doing what I do best: stuffing my face, working out and playing with a few of my favorite things.

Particularly, my brand spankin' new toys that Santa brought for me ;)

A full Kettlebell set! To say that I'm excited about these is an understatement. I love switching up my workouts and kettlebells are the perfect way to do so.

I also plan to use the kettlebells for my in-home personal training. Yup, you read that right. After a brief hiatus during my pregnancy, I'm ready to get back into training and have decided to expand and offer services via the blog. I'm currently working on a new site so stay tuned for that.

I hope everyone else had a great New Year's weekend! Hard to believe that I'll be celebrating my first child's first birthday this year!
