Resolutions for 2012

Last year was the first year in awhile where I set resolutions and stuck with most of them...

However, going through my first pregnancy and the fact my husband was away a lot precluded me from fulfilling all of my goals. Waking up early got hard to do as it got harder to sleep, most yoga poses were impossible as I grew a bump, and it's hard to have a monthly surprise date with just me, myself and I.

In spite of all that, I was pretty consistent with my other goals so for this coming year I've actually decided to have resolutions again.

And because 2012 is the year the world will end, it'll make my resolutions all the more important to fulfill ;)

Without further adieu, my goals for 2012 are as follows:

Love

Continue telling my husband one thing I love about him every day
Go on a date night once a month - if the husband is home
Get to church together more often
Be a little more understanding of how stressful his job can be at times

Cooking
Try one recipe a month that scares me
Be more consistent with Meatless Mondays
Get over my fear of leftovers

Fitness
Wake up early to work out - I have a baby that helps with this
Yoga once a week
Continue exercising 4-5 days a week
Perfect the military style push up & pull up (NOT kipping pull ups)
Hold an unassisted handstand for as long as possible
Increase my overall strength

Beauty
Get more haircuts
Actually get a pedicure for once - It's been 2 years!
Continue my natural skin care regime, start applying to hair/body

Life/Other

Continue playing my piano 3x a week
Get certified in 2 new certifications - more info on this later
Organize all of my files
Finish painting the living room, hallway and kitchen

Caleb
Have faith in my own maternal instincts
Learn to say no to having all of the latest, coolest baby products out there
Try not to stress too much and learn to appreciate the moments
Arrange all of his photos and memories into a photobook
Enroll him into Baby Sign Language Class on Post
Breastfeed for the first year of his life
Once he can eat solids, make ALL of his food from fresh veggies/fruit

I'm not kidding myself and making promises that I will definitely satisfy all of my resolutions. Anything can happen next year so I won't be holding my breath. I will however, do my best to remember my resolutions in hopes I'll complete at least one resolution thing by the year's end.

And of course, if there's one thing I'm looking forward to most next year, it's that I'll have a whole year to simply enjoy. I have a wonderful husband, an adorable baby, really fluffy soft dog that loves to cuddle, a beautiful home and great family and friends. If I don't fulfill any of my resolutions I can always take solace in the fact that I am still incredibly blessed and that's all that really matters.
